Mr. Crowe has experienced things only a few people will get the chance to. He flew over the Gulf of Mexico surrounded by a black sky and brilliant stars; he remembered practical jokes during the Navy vs. Army Football Games; and flying over the Mediterranean Sea with Spain’s snow-capped mountains reflecting on the water, against the bright blue sky. The memories he has collected over the years are truly stories to be told.
Mr. Crowe is a “person of a strong belief in family, God, and Country. A belief in individual rights and the ability of people to make their own choices…and produce something of value”. I love how eloquently Mr. Crowe said this. I too agree that people making their own choices is extremely important for the betterment of society.
Mr. Crowe graduated from the Naval Academy Class of 74’ and was a P-3 Sub Hunter Pilot. That’s a huge plane that drops radars into the ocean to find enemy submarines. Mr. Crowe joined the military because of the example set by his father’s generation, and he felt it was now his turn to do the same. The best part about serving for him, he says, was the feeling of “being a member of the world’s best Navy”.
Mr. Crow’s advice to today’s youth is to learn history. Not just what you are taught in school, but to go out and seek knowledge of the causes that founded our nation. As someone who has taken 2 classes on ancient history, I think that learning about what has happened in the past will make us all more prepared for the future.
